La Academia de la Lengua, the reigning authority on the Spanish language in Mexico and in the Spanish-speaking world, has elected Francisco Cabrera to membership. La Academia, which is affiliated with La Academia Real de la Lengua of Spain and has branches in every Spanish-speaking nation, numbers Mexico's most distinguished linguists and authors in its ranks.
